
JHE & Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join an innovative manufacturing & distribution services organisation with an international footprint. Based from their UK headquarters in Skipton, the chosen candidate will report to the Finance Manager and form a key part of the finance function that oversees multiple international subsidiaries and revenues in excess of £150 million.
Working in a finance team of ten both UK and globally based, this is an exciting opportunity for an experience accountant to join an evolving and growing business. Working with a supportive, personable and quite lovely finance manager, this role is in effect, the no 2 in finance for the group. The chosen candidate will be tasked with overseeing the biggest company in the group, performing an array of accounting tasks. The role is offered on a hybrid basis following an initial induction period, but you must be able to commute to Skipton 3 days per week.
Key elements of the role
- Monthly account entries – accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, reconciliation of sub ledger,
- Monthly / quarterly VAT returns, EU Intrastat, arrivals and dispatches
- Production of monthly management accounts delivered to deadline with analysis and investigation of results and variances
- Quarterly group consolidation reporting - P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statement and a hod reports
- Working to set Group Budgets & ongoing budget variance analysis
- Weekly treasury reporting
- Compiling and controlling VAT & Intrastat Reports for local subsidiaries
- Daily update of bank accounts in multiple currencies
- Transactional finance duties
Qualifications and experience required
- Experience in management accounting, reporting, reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Exposure to multinational, multi-entity or multi-currency finance processes.
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and the ability to turn data into clear insight.
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and take ownership of your areas.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to suggest and support improvements.
