
JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a local Bradford business to recruit a permanent Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the purchase ledger and support the accounts function for a subsidiary business. The role can be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience.
Working in a team of seven and reporting into the head of finance, this is an exciting opportunity for the chosen candidate to take ownership of the purchase ledger whilst also looking for wider exposure into general accounting. There would be opportunity to assist the head of finance with both subsidiary and group accounts if desired.
Duties include:
- Take full ownership for the purchase ledger
- Reconciliation of accounts
- Reconciling month supplier statements
- Responsibility for monthly and bi-monthly BACS payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Assisting with preparing monthly management accounts including prepayments and accruals
- Intercompany reconciliations on SAP
- Assisting with sales ledger when required
- Monthly reporting on Excel, SAP and Xero
Person specification:
- Qualified by experience or AAT qualified / part qualified is desirable
- Proven experience overseeing purchase ledger on an end-to-end basis
- Ideally possess some desire to progress into a wider accounts role
- Excellent communication skills, proven ability working closely with both finance and non-finance teams
- Ideally have experience working on Xero / SAP
- Good excel skills to lookups and pivot table level
