JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with a reputable and long-established business based in Leeds as they look to recruit an experienced credit controller to join their growing finance team. This global business works with very high-end clients and the chosen candidates will form part of a team of 7, overseeing their own ledger and client base.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented individual with a solid background in credit control and debt recovery. You’ll be joining a collaborative and fast-paced team, responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong working relationships to minimise outstanding debt. Candidates from various backgrounds including financial services, insurance, distribution and collections ideally with some exposure of credit risk insurance are encouraged to apply
Duties include
- Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts
- Working with global entities using a different tailored approach depending on terms agreed
- Chase overdue payments and reduce aged debt
- Allocating cash and working on multicurrency ledgers
- Liaise with internal departments and external clients to resolve queries efficiently
- Monitor and report on debtor balances
- Support billing processes and ensure accuracy of invoices
- Work collaboratively within the credit control team to meet cash collection targets
- Working with businesses and insurers regarding claims updates
Person spec:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in credit control
- Strong track record in debt collection
- Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle complex queries and resolve issues independently
- Previous billing experience
- Resilient, proactive, and able to build strong client relationships
- SAP experience is desirable, but not essential
The position will pay in the region of £29,000 - £30,000 offering 2 days working from home, 25 days holiday, private healthcare, life assurance, staff discounts and SIPP scheme. Hours of work are 35 per week, working 8-4, 8.30-4.30 or 9-5.
