JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a fantastic manufacturer in Bradford, who are looking for a purchase ledger clerk on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a lovely role working in a small finance team reporting into a fantastic and knowledgeable FD.
Working in a successful and growing business, the chosen candidate will oversee the purchase ledger in its entirety and have ultimate autonomy in maintaining the ledger, consistently meeting deadlines. Ideally, candidates will have manufacturing experience or at least understand stock workings within the ledger. The role is a key function within the team, candidates who have worked within a stand-alone ledger are encouraged to apply.
Duties include:
- Receive, review, and process invoices for goods and services.
- Obtain approvals for service invoices before processing.
- Match goods invoices against GRPOs, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Flag urgent payments, proformas, and chaser requests for prioritisation.
- Maintain vendor relationships by managing the purchase ledger inbox and providing timely payment updates.
- Post bank payments onto the system to support accurate reconciliations
- Update the monthly taken DD’s and upcoming DD report at the request of the Managing Director.
- Set up payees on vendor accounts and payees on banking systems
- Post credit cards and expenses
- Deal with international payments (GBP, EUR, USD), working with advanced payments
The FD is a firm advocate for flexibility with flexible start and finish times with the option of 2 days working from home. This is a genuinely lovely role for an experienced and professional purchase ledger clerk, seeking an exciting and rewarding position on a year's contract.
Salary will pay £30,000, working a 37.5 hour week and free parking. Holiday entitlement is 25 days + bank.
